This is a thoughtful and erudite look at a climactic moment in Paul’s letter to the Romans.  The author finds Romans 8 a source of hope and renewal, and that view leads to both  theological and devotional insights. A careful contextual introduction is followed by an  examination of Romans 8 in sections, each of which begins by noting points of interest in the passage and proceeds with a ‘Reflection’ that leads the reader to a deeper understanding of Pauline theology, its context, and the ways it can enhance our spiritual lives.
This is an illuminating and engaging exploration for the general reader and a helpful commentary for those preaching and leading retreat groups.
